2022 was a busy year. Late in 2021 we refreshed the plantings in the flowerbed by the #7 Green and held a Staff Appreciation lunch in December.
In March, FODB had a spring cleanup day when we cleaned the flowerbeds and got ready for the season. We also mulched the hitting nets area.
In May, FODB joined Golf Operations to sponsor Divot Repair Day. Over 20 people joined the fun and we spread 2 tons of sand onto the divots in the fairways and tee boxes. The team had a fun social afterwards overlooking the #2 Green. You could really tell the difference when the grass started to grow and green up in June.
May brought the first wave of blue asters to the flower meadow by #13, followed in June by bright yellow Coreopsis and blanket flowers. We are planning on supplementing new varieties this fall. The flowers in the #7 Greenside bed were stunning in the Spring.
FODB donated $1000 to the Golf Maintenance Group to pay for the steel edging and rocks around the new tee markers.
We held a summer cleanup day to weed the flowerbeds and clean up the Dogwood sign. The course looked great for the Alzehimer's Tournament in late June and in September for the Tournament.
On Labor Day, the annual tournament was a great success! 168 players participated.
December will bring our Annual Staff Appreciaiton Holiday Party.
Check out new improvements on the #2 Green Project. Thanks to Dale, Mike and Jim for planting 6 red Dogwoods and a maple trees - all ready to bloom, 5 new ornamental grasses and a replacement 3 gallon Azalea were also planted. 5 one gallon replacement Azalea’s are in waiting. As always, we appreciate the help of the Maintenance Team for help with the heavy lifting.
